The Burlington Chamber of Commerce is an independent group of local businesses with the sole intent of working together to make their community a better place to live and make a living.
We are an independent chamber enjoying an Affiliation with the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce. This affiliation gives our member businesses opportunities to over 600 members in towns like Bristol, Farmington, Plymouth and Wolcott through Central Connecticut.
The Burlington Chamber of Commerce recognizes that we are a “gateway” to Litchfield County as well as Hartford County making our Chamber along with our Regional Affiliation a great value to our Burlington Chamber membership because it allows our members to receive all the benefits of belonging to the other Chambers in addition to being part of energizing and growing our local Chamber!
Our Chamber became official on March 12, 1987 after a group of civic-minded men and women came together to create the first Board of Directors, elect officers and develop a set of By-Laws.
Our first elected Officers were:
- William Kurtz of Punchbrook Tennis and Swim Club, President
- Stephen J. Savino of Stephen J. Savino, C.P.A., Executive Vice President and Treasurer
- Mariane Lohman of Connecticut Bank & Trust Company, Secretary
Our first elected Directors were:
- Fred Chard
- Karen Brzezinski
- David Cichon
- Thomas Coffey
- Richard Hrinak
- Pat O’Sullivan
We still have a very active Board and Directors as volunteering their time and passions to continually move our Chamber forward by planning events like Business After Hours and Coffee-n-Chats, reaching out to our large home-based business base and making our needs known from Plymouth to Farmington and Burlington to Bristol through our Regional Affiliation.
We invite all companies doing business in Burlington to join our Chamber, to take advantage of all the benefits we can offer, to offer their suggestions to help our membership and to be an important part of our Burlington Community.
