The Burlington Historical Society preserves local history and brings it to life, making history relevant for people today. We do this by offering localized historic programs and immersive exhibits that are portals to the past.

The Society maintains the Elton Tavern which was built on the Town Green in 1810. This beautifully restored historic space is available for community organization use or private rentals. BHS provides the public with both the Tavern and the one-room Center Schoolhouse as living museums.

We also provide the following community events:

●         Burlington Passport and local history school program

●         Connecticut Open House

●         Annual Carol Sing

●         Wednesday night Bluegrass

●         Various in-person and online programs

●         Annual Art Show

●         Tavern Day town-wide event
